Oil Change in Houston, TX at 2717 Hillcroft Street.

My original review was from a few years ago, so I wanted to provide an updated/recent review, as of August 2026. I’ve been to this location three times now and the car service and customer service are still top notch. The guy who did my oil change last year did it again this year and he’s consistently kind, helpful and willing to answer my questions. I had to wait over an hour but there were a lot of people in line for a Sunday. Usually I go during the week, so I appreciate that they were open on Sunday because I decided to get the service at the last minute. Anyway, all three bays were occupied and had at least three cars waiting in each line when I arrived. The guys working were kind enough to offer us waters while we waited as it was a very hot day. Once it was my turn, it didn’t take longer than about 20 minutes for them to get done. I highly recommend Take 5 (particularly the location on Hillcroft and Westheimer in Houston) for your oil changes. They don’t try to upsell you on unnecessary maintenance or extras and they are quick.

As soon as I arrived I was offered a cold bottle of water by a very friendly associate. I sat in my car and the technician immediately performed the Oil Change. I opted to have my State Inspection done too (didn’t know that was a service offered) and they gave me a $10 discount for doing both although I only had a $7 discount coupon. My car had been off the road for 10 months so my battery had been completely dead and a friend had bought me a new one. At first the technician couldn’t understand why I my car was failing the inspection but as soon as he got this info he knew that was the problem. Apparently, the car needs to be driven about 100miles in order for the brand new battery to recalibrate and pass the computer test. He was so helpful and told me to return within 15 days to try again for free. The fantastic thing was you stay in your car while they do the inspection too!!! Brilliant. I highly recommend the guys at the Hillcroft/Westheimer location.
