More than an oil change! I don't usually leave reviews, but my visit to Take 5 last week deserves a lot more than a star rating. I brought in my fleet vehicles, and the service itself was excellent. The team was thorough from start to finish. They checked every fluid, took the time to match my foreign engine with the right oil for its specifications, and did it accurately and precisely. Just as important, nobody tried to upsell me. I walked in bracing for that familiar, uncomfortable moment where you have to say "I appreciate it, but I don't think I need that today." It never came. They told me what my vehicles needed and nothing more. As a business owner running a fleet, that kind of honesty is exactly what earns a customer for life. But the service is not the reason I'm writing this. The reason is the manager, EJ. As a father, a business owner, and someone who has taught parent engagement, and one of the founding members of the “Washington State Fatherhood Council” I noticed the culture the moment I walked in; There was real camaraderie among the crew, but what stood out most was the respect they had for EJ. Not the forced, (watch what you say) respect some bosses demand. The kind that is earned. These young men look up to him, and it is obvious he genuinely cares about them. I watched how he worked with some of the newer employees, and the patience, kindness, and encouragement he showed them nearly brought me to tears. He wasn't putting on a show for customers. He had no idea anyone was paying attention. This is simply who he is. At one point I mentioned to one of the employees that it looked like they really enjoyed working there. His answer melted my heart in a way nothing has in a very long time. His story is his to tell, so I won't share the details. What I will say is this: EJ is showing up for these young men in a way some of them have never had anyone show up for them before. For some of them, he may be the first consistent, positive male presence they have ever had. Anyone who has worked in father engagement knows how much this matters. Young men need someone who models what it looks like to work hard, keep your word, own your mistakes, and treat people with respect. They need someone who holds them accountable and believes in them at the same time. They need to feel like they belong somewhere, and that someone notices when they show up. That is mentorship, and in a lot of ways, it is fathering. EJ is doing it every shift, in the middle of a busy service bay, without asking for anything in return. It reminded me of the kind of leader I work hard to be for my own crew, and honestly, it was one of the most refreshing things I have seen in a long time. Positive male role models in positions of leadership are so important, and it is something our communities are missing. The ripple effect of what EJ is doing will reach far beyond this shop. These young men will carry it into their future jobs, their relationships, and someday their own families. To Take 5 leadership: you have someone special. Please make sure EJ knows how valued he is, and take care of him. Leaders like this are rare, and they are worth investing in. I commend you for putting the right person in the right seat. Great experience at take 5! No appointment needed, no wait. The customer service was outstanding. I applaud this business. This is what customer service used to be. You won't be disappointed !! They said i didn't need an oil change yet and that honesty is unheard of this days. Checked everything and sent me on my way. Update....went again and same experience as b4. Great business and friendly employees 👏 👌

This review is long overdue. I have been going to Take 5 on Pacific for several years, and every time they give the most exceptional service one could ask for. They are prompt, professional, and not to mention, LE/first responder friendly. A specific shout out to EJ, the current manager, as well as Ethan, Eddie, Bo, James and Eric. I tell everyone in the area: If you need an oil change, TAKE 5 on Pacific!
