Oil Change in Florence, SC at 1534 S. Irby St.

***UPDATED REVIEW*** Huge shoutout to the Manager, Chris for taking the time to call me and speak with me about what I experienced in February. I am extremely impressed with the level of empathy, professionalism, clarity, and accountability coming from someone who manages a service shop! This type of experience just does not happen often and shortly after the call, I was honestly moved to tears. That's how rare it is to feel HEARD when trying to find someone to trust with your car as a woman. Just to give a summary of what I initially posted, somehow my MAF sensor became unplugged while they were checking my engine air filter, which caused my car to keep shutting off at each stop. Also, one of the technicians mistakenly referred to the coolant flush as an "engine coolant flush," leading me to think that my sudden oil leak came from the "engine" coolant flush. Chris respectfully clarified that I did in fact received a coolant flush (different from an ENGINE coolant flush), and we both determined that the oil leak was indeed totally unrelated to the service I was provided. Unfortunately, due to my car having over 300K miles, it was just a matter of timing. Chris also accepted responsibility for one of his employees unplugging my MAF sensor (which should have never been unplugged to check the engine air filter). Again, it means a lot to us consumers when we experience this type of exchange at a service shop. I understand mistakes happen, mechanics are human and often work in extreme temperatures, but I think what also stands out the most to us consumers is HOW we are treated and how mistakes are addressed when we bring it to the staff's attention. THANKS AGAIN, CHRIS for treating me like a human, for being understanding, and also educating me without belittling me. I truly appreciate you and I hope you never leave Take 5 lol us consumers NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE YOU running these service shops! If I could copy and paste you in every shop, believe me, I would! Wow!

This past week my sister went to get an oil change and Mr. Cameron was the one to first approach us giving us 2 bottles of water and to let us know how they work. Then Mr. Chris the manager came and talked with her and helped her out a good bit with getting to a price. Mr Dreavon was the one to do the oil change we all laughed and cut up for the few minutes we was there and it was the best experience!!!! These guys are wonderful. I wasn’t even getting nothing just there for the ride and I truly enjoyed every moment! Highly recommended!!! They actually care!

Our experience at Take 5 on Irby street was flawless! We came due to me having my late parent’s vehicle and I wanted to make sure everything was in tiptop shape. I told them my story and they not only gave us waters but treated us with the upmost care and concern. Chris I think was his name kept us laughing as well. Those 3 men worked diligently with a smile and expertise. I will be back soon as I told them to get more work done.
