Oil Change in Derby, KS at 1731 N Rock Rd.

The “individual” who did all my oil changes for 25 yrs became wildly unreliable 😒 and our local mechanic said I’d need to be there by 8am so they could do it first thing; otherwise, I’d need to leave my car with them and they’d get to it when they had time. I am NOT a morning person, and as a home health nurse, my car is required for my work! So I texted my son in-law and asked who does his vehicles’ oil changes. He immediately replied “Take 5!” He told me he likes them because they’re quick AND professional, and open into the evening. So later that afternoon after a long day of patient visits, I went to the one in Derby. There was one car ahead of me. A friendly gentleman approached my car and greeted me, offering me a bottle of water. I asked about prices and he explained the cost of each oil change, all of which were in line with what other places charge; it’s fairly spendy to get an oil change anywhere these days, and it’s no different here, but it’s about the same the local mechanic was gonna charge, only Take 5 is faster and waaay more convenient. I went online and received a $30 off coupon as well. The young man inside the shop who took all my info was super friendly and helpful, answering my Qs while my oil was being changed. At one point they asked if I wanted my air filter checked and I thought, here comes the upsell…although my work takes me down a LOT of rural gravel and dirt roads, I knew for a fact my air filter still had at least 2/3 of its life remaining. But they didn’t try to upsell me! They told me it looked good to go for quite a while longer. From the time I drove up to the time I left was no more than 20 min, maybe closer to 15 min. I was impressed and I told them so! I even looked around for a tip box but there was none. I will definitely be returning and recommending to anyone!

Had a wonderful experience at Take 5. The gentleman was so nice that helped me. Got me right in and with this terrible hot weather he offered me a water. I felt bad for him as he was the one working in this heat! Not sure why garages aren't air conditioned? Was out of there in 10 minutes! Couldn't be more pleased!

These guys in Derby are fantastic. David and Braden are both personable, professional, and reasonable to work with. After a different oil change shop, Jiffy Lube, failed to reinstall my skid plate properly, I had to order a replacement. I stopped by Take 5 in Derby because no other shops could fit me in the same day, and they had no problem installing it for me. The whole job took about ten minutes, and the customer service was outstanding. Great people, great service, and a great experience overall. I’ll definitely be returning here for future vehicle maintenance.
