I was driving home and ran over a piece of blown semi truck tire. When I got home I realized the tire had went under my car and ripped a piece of covering under my car. It was after 6 and most car places are closed and tomorrow is Sunday so places are closed then too. But I live just around the corner from this take 5. I slowly drove over and asked Reece and Craig if they could help me get the piece off. They were quick to get me taken care of and I so appreciate their help. Now I can safely get to church and tomorrow!

The whole operation was absurdly efficient. Before I could even finish awkwardly pretending not to make eye contact through the windshield, they had already changed the oil, checked the fluids, inspected the tires, and possibly solved several international conflicts. At one point, three employees simultaneously shouted numbers and measurements back and forth like they were launching a space shuttle. I felt less like I was getting an oil change and more like my 2016 minivan was preparing for orbital re-entry. The technician showed me the air filter like a medieval doctor presenting evidence of a curse being lifted from the kingdom. Five minutes later my engine was running so smooth I briefly considered entering my car into the Kentucky Derby. When I drove away, my car felt younger, faster, and emotionally supported. The check engine light looked afraid to ever come back on again.

I went to Walmart to get an oil change (the day before going back to Texas which is a long drive) and I was told at Walmart I could not get an oil change with an oil leak. I came to take5 as a last minute resort. I called them first to confirm it could be done with the leak and they said yes, they even offered me a $25 off coupon sent to my phone number by text as I was on the phone with them. I arrived around 6-7pm with no wait. They handed me a water and they began working on it. They explained everything well and my panic turned to calmness. The only reason for 4/5 stars is because when the mechanic told me about other things besides the oil change like the air filter being dirty and needing to be changed, I asked him how much it would be and he said $13. I paid and saw the bill and it was not $13, it was $28.99. So I said not appreciate being told a different price. I ONLY agreed because I believed it was $13. I had already paid it so I thought there’d be no point in arguing it anymore. Other than that, they saved my truck for this trip, I would go again but be wary about the prices they tell you and look at the bill before paying.
