All of the guys were super nice and got my sorted quickly! I was turned away from Valvoline in Madison at 6:40 whenever they close at 7. I called take five and the manager said to come on over so I did and they were all so nice and honored a discount that I had for valvoline. Which was great because I’m currently paying for bills from beating cancer (chemo and surgeries aren’t cheap 🥲). So that was a huge help to me. Thanks to Johnathan, Jeffrey, Shane, and Aiden! (Sorry if I misspelled anyone’s name! Yall have been the best oil change experience I’ve ever had- thank youuuu!!! Yall are the best! 🫶🏼) PS- I was here during closing time and you can tell they really take pride in their shop! They were making sure to clean everything carefully while still making sure I was taken care of.

I came into the Take 5 Oil Change in Hendersonville, TN this afternoon and was sitting in the middle bay when I overheard a conversation between a customer in the first bay and a manager named Johnathan. The customer explained that he had already had a coolant exchange done earlier this year, but his coolant reservoir was completely dry again. Johnathan took the time to explain several reasons why this could be happening. The customer seemed ready to pay for another coolant exchange, which would have made it his second one this year. What Johnathan said next really caught my attention. He told the customer, “I’d love to take your money and do the service, but I wouldn’t feel right doing that. That’s not how I conduct business.” Instead of charging the man for another service that he wasn’t convinced the customer actually needed, Johnathan offered to top off the coolant and try to burp the system again before he left, explaining that trapped air pockets could potentially be contributing to the issue. That spoke volumes to me. It would have been easy to take the customer’s money and send him on his way, but Johnathan chose honesty over making a sale. He went above and beyond to help someone while being completely transparent about what he thought was best. I even told the customer myself that Johnathan did him a solid. You don’t come across that kind of honesty everywhere, especially when someone has an opportunity to make money and chooses to do the right thing instead. Because of what I witnessed today, Johnathan earned my respect, my trust, and my future business. I honestly don’t care that this location is an hour away from me—I’ll make the drive. Take 5 Hendersonville just gained a lifelong customer because of one manager choosing integrity over a sale. Johnathan, keep doing business the way you’re doing it. People notice.
